"Firefly" by Hassen Ismail Beynah

The unreachable light

The one at the end of the dark cave

A dark that torments

A dark with no light for too long

A dark fearing the death the light brings,

Like a firefly that lived too long without light

A firefly scared of all light except the one attached to it

The unreachable light

Reflection: Sometimes we let fear stop us from being who we are or

accomplishing anything we're capable of. Don't be in the dark for too long, for it

only knows how to torment. Find light and love in your life to combat it. Try not to

be the firefly with only its light.
